Visit LEA1, Love Beach, and Leave a Selfie

Visit LEA1, Love Beach here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA1/128/128/21
Vaneeesa Blaylock invited me over to this sim area last week to check it out.  I finally made it over and left my Kara Cutout.  It's a fun little self-expression area people can rez a selfie expressing their love. Hurry over because I think it's only up for the week.
 The note card says:
"For the first week of Summer (N. Hemisphere) / Winter (S. Hemisphere) LEA1 is LOVE BEACH!
We love this world.
We love the avatars that share it with us.
Can you think of a world built as much on User Generated Creativity as SL?
We may never experience a place like this again.
I love this world.
I love my friends here.
I love the myriad strangers I’ve encountered here who have given me a flower or played a game.
I LOVE YOU!
Join us:
1. Take a selfie
2. Write “I Love You” on it (or anything you like)
3. Come rez a prim @Love Beach @LEA1
4. Put your selfie on your prim
Everyone is welcome
Why?
Because we love you."
I feel the same.. so rez I did!

WHAT IS SPREAD MUSIC NOW? WHY MUSIC?
This Is Spread Music Now: https://youtu.be/7COgYexbeZA

"Some people think music education is a privilege, but I think it's essential to being human."

-Jewel - singer, songwriter and instrumentalist

SpreadMusicNow believes that by funding music programs that clearly foster an appreciation for music, children will reap the benefits of improved academic performance, awakened creativity, heightened self-esteem, and an overall sense of accomplishment.

Study after study proves that regardless of socioeconomic background, music- making students do better in school than those who have no music involvement. Whether it is improved spatial-temporal reasoning, which is integral to math, or repetition of tunes and melodies, which is integral to verbal memory, learning, playing and creating music benefits children in a myriad of ways.

SL14B, Second Life Annual Community Celebration Opening Day Sunday June 18th

Visit the welcome area here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SL14B%20Impressive/96/122/80
A greeter at the main landing area gave me a wearable hud map, a had and flag.  The hud map is very handing in gettiner around.  They do have the moving pods again too for a nice tour.  Another good landing area is here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SL14B%20Stupendous/128/128/18

The Second Life Community Celebration runs from June 18th through the 25th.
Visit their official web site for full details, daily event schedule, more landmaarks, etc here: http://www.slcommunitycelebration.info/

Their theme this year as stated in part from their website states "Our theme for SL14B is “Carnivalesque!” If this is a birthday, then we’re going to have a festival worthy of Second Life®! Strike up the band, toss on your glad rags, and join us at the SL®14B Community Celebration as we hit the carnival."

The annual Second Life community/birthday celebration is underway and I stopped by for opening day as I was busy RL for the press day.  I have to say, there was one corner I was very excited about from the minute I saw it.   This was the area of Stupendous Stage Left, The Guardian, by Faust Stamer/Walton F. Wainwright , direct SLURL here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SL14B%20Stupendous/119/200/26) which caught my eye.  Atop this creature sits a cool venue too that was filled with music and dancing visitors.  It's absolutely huge and delectably eclectic and steampunk looking in design. The 3 headed armoured creature moves its heads, blows steam out its nostrils, has a pool at its base you can walk in and be teleported up to the glass tented stage dance and show area he holds atop his back. And believe me, once you've climbed the many steps up to the initial pool, you are ready for that cool teleport. There are some other large and very nice builds in this general area and in all the sections of this huge 18 sim community celebration.

I also very much loved Pan's Labrynth and ultimately Neverland Soiree here.. I hope: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SL14B%20Wonderous/236/27/24

Once again there are associated Linden freebies/prizes (see their home web site for landmarks under the SLURLS tab) there are also SL birthday sales going on around the grid and on the SL Marketplace.

Happy 14th birthday Second Life and to all the residents.  Come out and enjoy the wonderful variety of builds, art, music and other entertainment, etc. representing many of the things residents make and do to contribute to everyone's pleasure and experience.

Flash back/flash forward, by Giovanna Cerise at Split Screen Art Installation Space

Visit Flash back/flash forward, by Giovanna cerise at Split Screen Installation Space here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Coppelia/128/128/23

(note the new LM for Split Screen)

Giovanna writes of this installation... in part: "The tendency to emphasize and almost exacerbate the instability and impermanence of the perception of what has passed and of what is not yet is the leitmotif of "Flash Back / Flash Forward."  and more....." Inside there are spaces that vanish in the complex but, depending on the angle, they are perfectly visible. I gave them names:
The dream
The point of view
The desire
The lightness
The bird
The impossible choice"
Upon landing accept the note card with much more detailed information.
This is a cool immersive build.  I took a few pics as usual.. fun exhibit.  Check it out! Open through July 31st.

Hands MOVE and Music Matters in Second Life

I just had to make a little video of my bento hands and head with a new bento AO. I LOVE the natural movements of the hands. SL hands and feet used to be high on my pet peeve list and new avatars will never know of the old block feet and unattractive hands pre-mesh. Now we have beautiful mesh bento body parts and bento movements. I'm so happy. The bento heads are also cool and the AOs for bento range from naturally subtle to downright obnoxious, based on brands, adjustments, and personal preference. Thank you SL for the many happy years and improvements! I am still tweaking my bento head but at least I have it on now. Loving the possibilities!

In this video I'm wearing my music matters t-shirt. This is in support of a SL benefit to support music education, the first life campaign "Spread Music Now" program. The music matters in SL will hold a 2 day benefit for first life music education for children June 23rd and 24th. You can get your Music Matters t shirt in SL for just 50L each that goes to support the program. What a deal! They can be found in kiosks around the grid, or from AllieKattz Resident, who along with Carol Greenwood, are organizing the SL event filled with lots of SL live music.

Check out the SL Music Matters Facebook page for more information and lineup of over 19 musicians for us in SL here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1738570286420853/
